I think there are many filters that will work for this. I use a Fram PH2870A
for a couple of reasons...
Mainly used on German vehicles, 300 series BMW & VW Bus so it would
appear versatile and up to the task
Always have a bunch on hand (for BMW & VW)
Is the approximate size of the old cartridge canister... I go to the
trouble of painting
them a shade of green that approximates the canister color so they don't
looked
too out of place in the engine compartment.
Not sure what dimension you were asking about but the O.D. of the gasket on
this filter appears to be about 2 13/16".
