Grade 8 is stronger than grade 3. To get anything stronger, you have to
go to aircraft or proprietary alloys, and they can be tough to find in
the right size. Grade 3 bolts are plenty strong enough to hold your
engine, the suggestions to use grade 8 are just to get some extra safety
margin. Your parts place is full of ...
However, if you still want something stronger than grade 8, check out
http://www.centuryperformance.com/fasten_material.htm for a nice chart,
then take lots of $$$ to http://www.arp-bolts.com/
ISTR the starter bolt holes are 3/8", the rest are 5/16", but the thing
to do is check on your engine.
