I saw the article too and can't remember where. The guy had created a
"special body" for his car and it ended up looking very much like a vintage
Ferrari. When he pulled onto the field they directed him to park with all
the real Ferrari's, after which he stood off to the side and listened to
people's comments about the car. There was even a series of pictures showing
his car parked there.

I haven't submitted anything to the list in the last few months because I
felt a little chastened after the great "bio bash". Seems some of the
members felt that that strayed too far away from what the list is all about,
so, as I've had no opinions about recent issues (and THAT's a hell of an
admission!), I've just been lurking. However, I was talking recently to a
friend about a visit I made to Road America for one of their Chicago
Historic Sports Car Club (I may have the name wrong, but you know who I
mean) vintage meets. I am sure that I saw a TR3 in among a bunch of vintage
Ferraris, painted Ferrari red and evidently raced by that team. I have
always wondered why this car was with that group (Ferraris and TRs are chalk
and cheese). Does anybody know if I actually saw this, or was I dreaming?
This was probably ten years ago. I know there was an early Ferrari that
VAGUELY resembled a TR, but this was not one of them - I'm sure it was a
TR3. Anybody got any clues?
