Hello All,

I have a friend whose father was the chief mechanic for a uniform rental
company with a very large fleet of trucks. These trucks are going
non-stop. Rather than take a truck out of service for an extended period
of time for a scored crankshaft journal, he would scuff and clean the
scored area and apply a little Bondo to the journal then smooth with fine
sandpaper. To get the surface as true as possible you could back the
sandpaper with a strip of light weight aluminum such as the aluminum trim
coverage that is applied to fascia boards on houses. When the engine was
torn down at a later date he said it had held up great. It's an easy fix
that could get you through the season or possibly longer and save you a
few bucks in the process.

Good luck,
