Not sure at all about TR6's but I had a similar problem with my 3A a few years
back. Battery acid caused a small hole to form in the metal oil pressure hose
where it enters the firewall. I ended up having oil both in the battery box and
all over my new rugs before I was able to shut the engine off. This was the 1st
start of the spring and I was on the carburator side of the engine and didnt
notice the leak. If 6's have a similar setup for oil pressure that would be the
first place I would check.
