Hear,Hear! and Yea, verily!

I was thinking about this list this morning. When I drove Triumph two
decade ago, there was no such list (obviously). It would have saved
me some serious heartburn if it had been around. The picture that I
think best describes the list is the well-known story about the six
blind men describing a elephant. To each one, the elephant was
something different. This list is in some ways like the elephant. To
some it's like a garage where we can gather and discuss the relative
merits of different parts, history, etc. To some it's like a library
containing the greatest collected source of technical knowledge about
Triumphs on the planet. To some it's like a pub, where they can share
their offbeat sense of humor as well as their interests. To others
(me) it's also Linus' security blanket. But to all of us it's a place
where we can share our quirky passion for Triumphs of all stripes.

So here we have MJB, who thought up the elephant and let us
bring it into our computers. Unfortunately, once you let something
like this out of the box it takes on a life of it's own. I think we all
owe MJB a round of applause and thanks for cleaning up all the elephant
poop we generate.

[This message delayed, as it needed manual intervention by the list
administrator. Gosh, maybe I should subscribe to this list again rather than
just shoveling elephant poop. I didn't realize I was a topic of discussion.
I like the elephant analogy. Down to only nine days behind. mjb.]
