Which is where the 120 degrees comes from.  720 degrees (2x360) to complete
a full cycle, divided by 6 cylinders, gives a firing every 120 crank degrees
(for an "even fire" engine)

Yes, assuming it's a 4-stroke. 720 degrees divided by 4 is 180 ...
But, a 4-cyl 2-stroke has 2 planes : 360/4 = 90
