My TR4A came to me without visors and hardware. I tried a couple of TR
specialists here in UK for replacement units. At that time I was only
offered new replacements in black as per TR5 / TR250 with corresponding
hardware also of the wrong type for my car.

At an autojumble I came across an original set of visors with brackets and
screws on the TR Trader stand (Manchester UK based dealer) for 20 pounds
(About 30 Dollars). They looked to be in good condition although the plastic
was discoloured and the brackets were rusty. The two visors were held
together, face to face, with two of those plastic cable ties that are
impossible to undo without the requirement of a sharp knife.
When got home I separated the visors and found that the the crafty b*******
had concealed the fact that the visors were damaged beyond repair. Needless
to say When I phoned them the next day I received the stock answer 'sold as
seen'.
Someone on the list advertised a number of parts for sale for a TR4A. I
emailed him asking for visors and he had some and sent me a comprehensive
set of scans. We had a deal.

Without the offer of parts on the list I would not have serviceable visors
therefore I feel it is a benefit to all listers. Also, all experiences good
and bad with suppliers reported to the list is of benefit to everyone.

Strange things do happen, two years ago I asked for feedback on a supplier
in California and I was warned off by numerous members. Two years later
someone else asked for the same info about the same supplier and received
glowing refferences??
