What advance cannister do you currently have, and on what engine ?  I'm
sure you posted earlier, but I threw it away.

As a side comment, pinging under cruise conditions is sometimes a
symptom of worn intake valve guides.  Oil has an extremely low octane
rating, and the same high manifold vacuum that advances the spark can
also suck oil past the guides.
