Silliest, most-pointless stunt candidate:

In a John Wayne movie (Big Jake?) wherein he is a Chicago police detective
in England, an E-Type fixed-head is driven off a pier.  Dumb part:  While
the car is in mid-air, the hatch flies open.  Why?  Because somebody thought
it would look cool, I guess.  It must have taken a bit of engineering and
fabrication to create something that is hard to believe would be natural
occurrence.
