As someone who is at least partly responsible for creating this stir, I will
say that I did as I often do with Randall and others and defer to them. I

Don't install it, don't reply to the messages, and most of all don't click
on the "To be removed" link !
Viewed in the best possible light, they are merely annoying; but IMO it's
more likely they are spammers in sheep's clothing, no matter what their
privacy policy says.
