Yow, neat! The first time I ever saw one was back in college (around
1968 or so). Some professor had an orange one that looked really,
really cool.

But back to that wheel question, I don't have a TR4 so I can't
comment on what is appropriate. A few years ago I put a set of 5.5in
KN Minators on my Spitfire (the originals were 5in steel), and I
think they look realy nice. It is true they aren't as polished as
some other wheels. Rather, the finish is a semi-gloss with a deepness
that seems like some sort of clear-coat over the metal. They have
weathered quite well and look the same now as when new. They
balanced well and provide a nice ride.

Recently I picked up a old set of 5.5in Cosmic GT MkII's from TSI for
the GT6. They aren't as clean and new-looking as the Minators
(havent had much time to work on them energetically), but yesterday I
finally put them on the GT6. The give it a different look than the
original steel w/trim rings, more purposeful, sorta'. The new tires
make a different too, of course. They have sharper, crisper edges
and a darker overall appearance. Which do I prefer? I think maybe
the Minators but haven't had time to admrie the Cosmics yet.

Just my $0.007.
