Panasport wheels

In addition to the Triumph I own a Marcos 1800 GT. I changed the wheels on the
Marcos to the lightweight version (for racing only) Panasport wheels a couple
of years ago and am very happy with them. I had chrome wire wheels (which
looked great!) on the car before I made the change. The Panasport wheels and
tires have a lot less vibration and they weigh a lot less. I weighed all the
components necessary to mount the wire wheels (adapters, knock-offs, wheel and
tires etc) and all the components to mount the Panasports (wheels, tires, lug
nuts etc.) and the difference was 59.6 pounds. That is a lot of unsprung
weight to get rid of which makes the car handle better. Wire wheels, chrome or
painted, certainly look great and look very "vintage". The Panasports look
more modern/"racey" and are less trouble to maintain.
