OK. this isn't really lbc; the car is a 67 datsun 1600 roadster, but i
figure it's just a japanese lbc, and the technology sure is the same. so
forgive me for asking, but i have a lot of respect for the technical talent
on this list and i was hoping someone would have an answer. i did indeed
try the roadster list, but they weren't very forthcoming with answers.

1. a couple weeks ago i drove the car halfway around the block; was able to
shift ok. first time with this car, which was bought with the understanding
that it needed some work. it has not been driven much in the last several
years i think.
2. a week or so ago i drove it all the way around the block.
3. a few days ago drove it twice around the block, but began to really have
trouble shifting. reached a point where i could no longer shift or even put
it in gear. could not put it into first with the car running.
4. bled everything tonight; still cannot put it into gear with the car
running. you can put it into gear with the car off, and there appears to be
a lot of play.

when you put in the clutch, the lever sticking out of the tranny moves an
inch or so, so am i correct in thinking the hydraulics are working ok?

also, when i bled it, unlike the brakes which gave me a good squirt every
time, sometimes i would get a decent squirt, sometimes just a dribble.

thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
