I think this is only the exclusive sort, such as an Allard or a Aston-Martin
(yes, I have seen pictures of both).  The more normal Ford estate car or the
like would not be called a shooting brake.  I believe there was a
horse-drawn wagon called a shooting brake in pre-automobile days.

As always, I remain open to education by my FATP.  My usual authority is
