Listers,
I had tucked Jim's original message away for follow up in case the Solid
State Voltage Stabilizer was ever delivered. I also sent an email a couple
of weeks ago to mike@gsta.net as he's shown as the Contact Person for
www.rustfreeroadsters.com/ where the Stabilizer is still being "sold". I
simply asked Mike if the product was now available and being shipped. After
two weeks with no reply, I'd second Jim's recommendation of not doing
business with this company. They have some interesting products but the
complete lack of response leads me to run the other way. I'd be curious to
hear if anyone has had a successful experience with them.

If Mike at www.rustfreeroadsters.com/ responds to me I'd be glad to share it
with everyone on the mail list.

Importance: High

Bob,

Never heard from them! PayPal credited "most" of my money back to me, but I
never got the Solid State Voltage Stabilizer! A couple of people on the list
said that they bought "one a year or so ago" from them. I don't know what
the deal is and would still like to buy one, but I am afraid I will have to
build one!

Jim

Jim,
Did you ever get any response from these people? I see where they still have
it for sale on their web site. I was going to order one until I saw your
email last month.

Several weeks ago I became interested in a solid state replacement for the
Voltage Stabilizer used in the TR250 and the TR6. I received a couple of
schematics from the list and on a whim I did a Google search for a
Solid-State TR voltage regulator, or some such name.

I found a company that was offering them for $20.00. It was a decent site
with good descriptions, etc. They preferred to sell using PayPal. I placed
an order and paid through PayPal and waited for the part to arrive, and
waited, and waited. After approximately two weeks, I sent a polite email
requesting an update. No response! A week later I sent a more demanding
email. No response!

I went to the PayPal site and filed a complaint. Well a couple of days ago,
they came back and said, yes indeed the supplier had not sent the part and
apparently weren't going to! PayPal is refunding my money, less $1.53 for
some reason! But I am getting most of it back!!

The company is: Benway/Tanner Enterprises, although that name is nowhere on
their web site!!

I would recommend that you all avoid doing business with them at all costs!!

Good luck and of course YMMV and definitely NFI!!
