Hi all,

Last nite the Discovery Channel aired a show called "Tested to Destruction".
The show was all about various crash testing performed on cars, trucks,
airplanes, trains, etc. They ran trains into nuclear waste disposal containers,
chickens into airplane engines and windshields, a double decker bus into a
bridge
overpass, a tanker truck into a bridge support, even a small crane on a
flatbed truck into the underside of a bridge. One test involved crashing a
radio
controlled 707 (I think) and took 15 years to set up!

What fun! Imagine getting paid to crash things.

One very short but distressing clip showed a TR3 being run through a fence
that was intended to prevent cars from crossing divided highway medians and
resulting head on accidents. The poor TR lost it's windshield and the crash
test
dummy his noggin ("head off" accident?), which nixed the use of the fence since
it was determined to be pretty certain death to occupants of convertibles. I
just wish they had used a Corvair or Fiat convertible instead of a TR.

This is the first time I've seen a "crash test" clip involving any sort of
Triumph.
