Funny story:  At the VTR 2001 in Breckenridge CO, I was talking to the
owner of a nice black Triumph 2000 Roadster and he asked if I would help
him put his top up.  I jokingly said yes if he takes me for a ride.  He
agreed and when we got the top up, he started to lock it up.  I reached
in my pocket and pulled out my Spitfire key and to my amazement it fit
the door and the ignition switch.  

No, I didn't steal the car but perhaps I should have!  :)

I have a similar situation... I bought some TR250 dash parts on eBay.
One was a key lock. I was 
thinking about getting it re-keyed to match my existing TR250. For some
reason I stuck my TR250 key 
in it and it worked. Kind'a makes you wonder how many different keys
they had.
