Gentleman,
A subject of some debate even for the TR4's. To make matters even more
confusing there were actually two different types of the amber & red lens. The
difference being in the pattern of the amber portion. An early and late
version/circle vs straight lines. As I said, I believe they were all red here
in the
US based on several supplier sources, reference books and my observation of
original cars. My 62 TR4 had red/amber but it is a CKD car built to European
specs.
However, the VTR vehicle consultant, Tom Waddel, from the West Coast claims
the TR250 lens is red/amber. Just got an e-mail from Ted Schmacher and he
stated red/amber is correct. Now I am getting weak and beginning to wonder. Is
it
possible that Triumph fitted both? I would be interested in additional
responses.
Cheers,
Darrell
