IMO, if they leak, the seals should be replaced before installing in a car
anyway. Personally, I just store them dry, on end. However note that a TR3
transmission will not rest flat on the bellhousing, because the input shaft
protrudes beyond the face, and it's probably not a good idea to leave it
sitting on the input shaft. If nothing else, you're apt to bung up the end
of the shaft when you move the transmission around. A couple lengths of
scrap 2x4 will make a fine support, though.
