Thanks guys for your responses! The DPPO decided to coat the inner
fenders front and back with undercoating to prevent stone chip damage.
Well, clearly some water got through to the splash panel on the
passenger side, and the panel has rusted *through* in a spot that was
otherwise hidden by the undercoating! I discovered this pach of the tin
worm while working on my car this weekend -- I have always been proud
that there is no rust on my rock-solid 250! Thankfully, having gone
over the offending spot and the rest of the car, I have found that the
car is otherwise fine. However, I have lost sleep for two nights (I
know, I'm a nut) due to this. I'm thankful I don't have to remove the
fenders!!!

Bill,

These panels are easily replaced without removing the fenders!

Howdy all:

I need to replace one of the splash panels in the front fender arch of
my 250. This is the panel that (sort of) seals off most of the inner
front fender from the wheel arch. Here's my question -- is it possible
to replace the panel without removing the fender? I can't tell from the
TRF catalog picture whether it uses nuts and bolts (which would require
access to both sides with the fender removed) or just screws in (which I
presume could be done without removing the fender).

As always, thank you for your collective wisdome!

Best,

Bill S.
