Make sure the two halves of the steering shaft are perfectly aligned. Any
misalignment will cause binding. The coupler thing must slide from one half
to the other with no movement of either shaft. The bolts on the unit side
and steering wheel side can be loosened to adjust the shafts and then
tightened when the shafts are aligned.
