One last comment about titling or *not* titling: Having a valid
title with the correct, original VIN number, is an *extremely*
valuable item on some of the more rare racecars, such as GT350
R models and Trans Am cars. These cars are too easy to replicate
and without some kind of paper trail, or proof of ownership, can
cause owners of authentic racecars huge amounts of grief. Just
look at how often GT350s appear for sale that are bogus. When our
Shelby Trans Am car was found 10 years ago, the finder made an express
point of having the VIN verified and authenticated by the CHP, and
then titled the car with that VIN. Since only 26 of these
cars were built in 1967, and only 11 or 12 are known today......
Note that all the VINs for these 26 cars are known.
And Mustang coupes are a dime a dozen....
