I have seen Mini front ends that were modified for removal back before glass
noses were SCCA legal. The trick is to take the nose off the race car, but
leave the flange. Then take a metal nose, also with a flange. Drill the two
flanges and bolt together with flat-head screws with short nuts (use
Locktite). Spread the drip rail slightly to cover the nuts. The hood remains
operational, but the front end can be removed fairly quickly for major
maintenence. Shouldn't be a problem for any race groups (would it?).
