Make sure you account for the width of the cutting tool blade/grinder when fitting your template. You can always grind it down a little to make a better fit. But you can also cut it short twice! ;-)

There is another option and that is the use of a mid 70's Chevy PU front end and crossmember assy that is only bolted onto the frame. Its an inch wider so you have to use two 1/2" spacers on each sid

The most you can get with one tricked out is about 500cfm. There are too many variations to determine which one you have and what it flows without having my carb rebuilder that I use for the race car
