A Left Hand Drive 1970 Midget would have a generator. What you are observing is normal for a generator as they don't work efficiently at low RPM's, so can't supply enough power for the cars electric

Yes, that's the sound, the blood curdling screech. Except I can make it happen by tapping on the bonnet just above the hinge. It's definately a metal to metal screech and not a rubber bumper squeek.

Would it be fair to assume that "M" would be the better needle for more power at lower speeds and better fuel economy at higher speeds? Or am I looking at this too simplisticly? Eriks.
