Hi Manuel, I can tell you from personal experience that if you get over zealous applying Permatex to the gasket, the Permatex will indeed fill in the oil return "dent" in the oil sump gasket surface.

Is there a problem using solid core ( copper) wires with a Pertronix Ignitor ? I know some electronic ignitions don't play nice with solid core. Thanks for your input.

I would check the coil. I've seen the same thing happen before. It's easy enough to throw in a known good used coil and give it a try. They are famous for letting your car warm up before they quit.
