I got it off by taking the top cover off, gave me a lot of extra clearance that way also. Didn't see the bolts you reffered to mine has 2 roll pins that I found out need to be driven into the grooves

Can't vouch for the molasses method but the washing soda and a DC welder at low amperage works great in very little time. I have only used this on cast iron parts and heavy gauge steel. -- Tim Davis
