Hello list: I was surprised by my mechanic when he told me my first gear is damaged, clicking noise. I've owed 3 other BJ8s' and this has never happened. I am the only driver except for mechanic test

First gear replacements are available $430 - $530 depending on type. If you are mechanically inclined, replacing it yourself is feasible. -I rebuilt my sideshifter with all new synchros, roller bear

I want to ad to David's comments. I too rebuilt my Tranny with a friend who had a better short term memory, (Pick somebody younger than yourself) and it worked out great and was very rewarding. The

....Another thing, --I would not attempt to do the repair on the gearbox, without taking the photos that Greg describes, AND without having GOOD print of the Master Parts list pages for the gearbox.
