- Your escutcheon is the right one for the adjustable wheel and locking collar. There should be no triangular backing plate in behind at all. The 3 tabs must be splayed and bent outboard and curve aro

- For my non-adjustable steering wheel, the diameter of the hole in the triangular backing plate is slightly larger than the diameter of the hole in the escutcheon ring. That way the tabs on the ring
