Doesn't the stator tube go all the way through the steering box and lock with an olive nut there, and doesn't it have a slot arrangement between the stator tube and the head? Mike Moore 59 TR3A _____

A certain amount of movement is normal - I'd guess 5 - 10 degrees each way. If more, it's either the nut at the bottom is loose or you have a broken stator tube. If the tube is broken, I have several
