The bolt that holds the vent tube onto the block goes through the grommet and threads into the block. I have a 283 with this set-up, the tube was squashed so I ran a stainless overbrade hose clamped

if you are not going with "as manufactured" restoration, i would recommend doing away with the draft tube and go with a PCV. you could mount the PCV in the place of the draft tube. oletrucks is devot

Very desirable. As you burn fuel, water vapor is produced that finds its way to oil. Same with gasoline when choke is on. sulfur in gas burns and some SO2 also dissolvs in the moisture in oil formin
