Can a fella hook one up to the starter and ground to the engine, so that he doesn't have to get in under the floor mat (I have temporarily made it difficult to get to my battery) and do they work on

That should work but you will need to add a series resistor to drop the 12 volt tender voltage to about 8 volts to charge your 6 volt battery. Durwood 51 1/2 ton Deluxe 5 window ____________________
