- Hi Alan I think the horns belong under the cover that is attached to the upper grill the one that has the hood latch on it. They should installed with the open end pointed down on th radiator frame,

- Every Chevrolet I have seen has always had the horn mounted in the engine compartment. I assume you are talking about your '54 Chevy.....I believe they were mounted to the core support. My TF trucks
