As far as I know for TFs all V-8's and all 6 cylinders with Hydra-Matics had solenoid starters. Only 6 cylinders with standard transmissions had floor starters. I'd bet that large trucks with 6cyl/st

a friend of mine did the same thing but wanted it to look stock so he made a switch up out of the old floor push button to roll the engine like the key would looked great worked great he also made it

According to the 57 factory service manual, 6's with standard transmissions got floor push button starters. Everything else got one of two styles of solenoid starters. The solenoid starters got an of
