- One possible thing to check if the tailgate chains aren't the "correct length". Check to see if the tailgate hinges have been moved up or down. On my '47-2, some PO moved the hinges up a bit....proba

- I'm pretty sure the AD trucks are a different size, but for TF, you can still order them from the dealer--the tailgate was the same til '87. I got a set of new chains from my local dealer a couple y

- I bought my chains from Chevy Duty and they too were too short. Mike oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959
