The 1098 clamp I have consists of the two semi circular pieces and two bolts. I have not had an issue with odor from under the bonnet. But in all honesty, I drive with the hood removed, so no odor wo

Just to chime in with my .02 cents, I agree 100% with Peter's suggestions. You will only have success with the original setup on your car if the pipe flange is clean and uniform without any bent edge

Ditto everything below, especially making sure the pipe flange is not warped, kinked, bent, distorted etc. If you remove the manifold or have a spare, you can gently hammer the flange against the lip

Louis, I have had success using the moss clamp, clean the flanges and use a jack with slight upward pressure and tighten the clamp. It's not a perfect seal but I haven't noticed any noise or fumes. D
