According to Bentley, max mechanical advance for my '79 1500 is 13-19 degrees @ 3300 rpm, with timing set at 2 deg. ATDC. I suppose that if you advance the idle timing to 10 deg BTDC, then max advanc

I knew a couple of people would verify/correct some of my original post. 1500 distributors do have vacuum retard. Disconnecting it allows more total advance under high vacuum situations. Its original
