I think they are spot welded or silver soldered. I was not sucessful in trying to same thing a few years ago and bought a rebuilt unit with lifetime guarantee at Dick's Auto Parts in Farmers Branch.

<< ow a question. The parts car starter has a rubber cover over it ( is this for safe starting?) I've never seen one on a care before nor have I heard anyone mention it on the list . Looked in the VB
