Frank, Re check timing, check generator, battery fully charged? Check for good starter ground. Check voltage regulator output. Start with these things . Let us know when you get the problem solved. L

I doubt it's an ignition problem. You probably have some sort of fuel mixture or fuel delivery problem. First and foremost, when you did your tune up, did you adjust your carbs? You have to do this

Really sounds like it is running lean, suggesting, as others have said, an air leak somewhere or carbs out of adjustment. Although easy enough to check, I don't think it would be a clogged fuel filte
