My TR6 was hard to start with the same conditions you have mentioned. Rebuilding the carbs seemed to provide the greatest benefit, it starts just fine now. About the same time I also discovered that

I remember that when I was having trouble with the carbs, I closed the bypass all the way. I will work on that this weekend and let you know. Hopefully that will work. On the starting issue, I guess
