- ACE hardware stores here in mid-Michigan carry floor runner material that is really close to the original ribbed material. Rick

- I found something real close. Go to Penn Station in NYC and there is a little junk store just behind the station on 8th Ave and 33rd or 32nd st. Old time stair runner. It was out front on a roll. $12

- Hi Brad, Try an electrical store. We use a insulated matting material that looks real close to the original, but it only comes in black. It is even pretty in expensive too. You don't need much. Orcha
