Taper bearings are an after market item and last no longer or better than the ball bearings. ALL Sprite/Midgets hubs, disc or drum, use the same bearings and they were originally fitted with the ball

Paul and Frank both say the roller bearings were after-market. I have to disagree ...apparently this type ball bearing was used with the 62-forward Sprite/Midgets. The roller bearings I removed from

hmmm, how very interesting. the factory "bugeye" parts book (wich i have one of , from J.H. bennett in allentown Pa. who was a dealer) does not show any tapered roller bearings for front hubs..... ch
