Thanks for the replys on this one. I've come to the conclusion that in fact the increased rpm WAS due to her heart racing after the sudden stop. She has always been known to be a little "high strung"

My opinion(guess) is that the throttle cable is binding due to the engine moving forward on it's mounts. Bill Kenyon SRL311 KA

Had a REALLY close call today! ;-( Had somebody pull out RIGHT in front of me. She never saw me, but heard me with all four tires howling, bringing me to a suprisingly quick stop. WAY to close for me
