Make sure that there is about 1/16" of clearance between the end of the clutch actuator rod and the master cylinder piston. If they are remain in contact when you release the clutch the return valve

Dave / Gary You are going from a dead stop so the OD won't be engaged at this time... so slipping or bad OD pump isn't the likely problem. Sounds like the classic symptom of a slipping clutch disc. I

Alan & Gary, The transmission still has to transmit drive torque through the uni-directional (Sprague) clutch in the OD unit, even when OD is dis-engaged. Not relevant but also, the rear cone clutch
