I installed the replacement line from my clutch master cyl to the slave this weekend on my '80B. Started out with a tubing bender, but quickly realized there was no way I was going to be able to do t

Seems to me you should be able to get straight fittings for splicing that size tubing. Did you try your autoparts store? Try taking a sample to your local plumbing and/or hardware store. (Brake tubi

Hmm, I don't think you are supposed to have any junctions or couplings in brake lines, as a safety consideration. -- Max Heim '66 MGB GHN3L76149 If you're near Mountain View, CA, it's the primer red

To be fair, Marc was asking about his clutch piping. As for brake plumbing, I think the 3 flexible rubber hoses would be much weaker links in the chain than any solid coupling you might have to put

You're right, I wasn't paying attention. But, my point was, the idea is you aren't supposed to ADD any more points of failure than are strictly necessary. Adapters aren't the issue. In-line couplings

I agree, I wouldn't want to have any more joints in the plumbing than necessary! Clutch plumbing is simpler though, so I thought maybe a coupler would be of some help. I'm not sure I understand the o

Well, the first reason is probably my lack of plumbing skills, the second reason was lack of clearance to actually snake a properly bent pipe in, or out for that matter. I can't snake the old one out

I was thinking the same thing. But it does run from one side of the engine compartment to the other, so there is all kinds of stuff in the way. Easier said than done, certainly. -- Max Heim '66 MGB G

Well, I'll have to look at my car when I get home, because I don't remember where the pipe actually goes. Seems to me you should be able to get a fitting to couple two flared pipe ends together. As

I have to admit, I've never changed that pipe with the engine in, but I have spliced the one on the V8 as it got a metal shard into the MC fitting and gouged it. The splice hasn't leaked in 10k miles

We've installed six of these hoses in the last few weeks with no problems noted. One thing about the metal pipe being difficult to thread into the new rubber hose: Often we've found that the flared

Thanks for the suggestion to file slightly the flare. I will try that with the new hoses. After I sent the inquiry to the list, I telephoned Moss to ask about this. The service rep, whose name I did
