It depends a bit on the switch ... is the ground wire red ? Does it have more than two wires ? Most likely, the switch is mechanical and doesn't care about polarity, but the fan motor does. If that'

Nah, it'll just blow backwards. That's usually how they're converted from push to pull anyway, so the motor is designed to run in either direction. Randall

Or you can do like the PO of my TR4... just put the battery in backwards and go. Remarkably, the car ran fine, the generator got it's polarity reversed by brute force and though the radio didn't work
