Hi John, I dunno, maybe you should add more "drink beer" steps. :) IIRC, JB weld does not fully harden instantly. You may want to wait 24 hrs before sanding it smooth. Better buy another case of beer

Why not replace the gasket? It is not that dificult to do, especially if you have the cooling system drained anyway. It depends how much beer you intend drinking before lighting the BBQ! Dean Rayner.
