Can anyone offer some advice regarding the electronic ignition distributor in the 1500 Midge? My attempts to start the '75 were foiled by the fact that I could get no spark. The coil seems to be fine

Yes, it'll run the car, but the advance curve is likely all wrong. Makes a perfectly usable spare though. I drove with one for weeks while I waited for a pertronix to arrive from the US. -- Trevor Bo

Put the spare pertronix in the bugeye, and you can adapt the Allison for the 1500. Voila, no expense. All you'll need to make this work is a chopper disk that fits the 1500, something that someone on

Nope, the sensor mounts in almost ANY hole in the baseplate, since the linkage is so movable. Your Midget 1500 baseplate has a few threaded holes where the original sensor was. And there is a chopped

Ha! The '78 I have still has the "lump on the side" distributor. But yes, they have a reputation for dying by the time they get to 70k miles, so in about a week, I'm sure I'll be replacing it as well

Not as silly as it sounds. Last time I had ign trouble my dyno guy said the module or distributor looked suspect as the 'scope showed a funny spike. Problem was the spike only went funny at high (6K)
