G'day Alan I did refer to the BN3 shop manual that I wrote myself and couldn't find anything. Yes the pump is in the same position and I like the idea of the header tape and will try it on the pipes.

A stock tank could be mounted backwards and the fuel line lengthened. This would put the pick up in the rear of the tank. It would expose about 10 inches of line and the elbow though. T I don't know
